Stationary Noise Tool

GOWell’s Stationary Noise Tool (SNT) is a Pegasus series tool making it combinable with our full range of logging tools. The SNT tool focuses on real-time SRO applications that require sensitive stationary measurements with immediate real-time on-site answers. Our unique real-time software automatically stitches multiple station measurements together to generate a real-time depth based answer product.

From this the operator can quickly identify intervals of interest and if required can easily acquire in-fill stations with closer spacing without any delays or extra data manipulation. This hybrid logging mode is capable of stitching together data from multiple SNT tools in the tool string to further optimize acquisition.

The SNT tool contains a carefully designed set of sensor elements to achieve a wideband frequency response which is highly sensitive from 40Hz and 60kHz. The sensors are sampled with two schemes to obtain optimal resolution in the low frequency (0-4kHz) and high frequency (0-60kHz) tracks. The oil filled sensor section provides efficient acoustic coupling with a unique piston-less thermal expansion compensation system. The SNT tool incorporates a high resolution temperature sensor which is a valuable compliment to the spectral noise measurements.
